Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail [Blu-ray]

Robertas back...and she's angry.
Black Lagoon was an unforgettable experience thanks to its intoxicating blend of action and awesome characters. So when the series ended many were left at a loss to find a suitable replacement. But fans need worry no longer, as this set brings back the explosions , guns and characters we love so much - all in an English dub! If that isn't enough to get you excited, then the return of a certain gun wielding Spanish maid is sure to clench the deal for you.

Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail (BL:RBT) is a five episode OVA series animated by Madhouse, that centres around the character of Roberta, who previously appeared in BL season 1. Her first appearance made it clear she was not to be taken lightly as she was one of the few who could match Revy in terms of sheer madness and skills with a gun; however, in RBT we see an even more extreme version of Roberta; one which will excite and create fear at the same time.

The set begins with the death of a certain person...

Let the mayhem begin
I am a big fan of this series, have been since it first aired on STARZ. So when I got the chance to buy this I jumped at it. All of the voice actors return for this string of episodes and it has all of the blood and mayhem of previous installments. the first episode alone is well worth the price of the Blu-ray. and Roberta is one of my favorite characters so seeing a series that she takes such a large part in was very fun. I hope that they are working on more of these in the future.

A must BUY!
I have the import version of this and have waited for this to be released in English and on Blu-ray! If you watched Black Lagoon and saw Roberta...you know she's no joke. That is all!

Dragon Ball: Season Three

Keep 'em coming! I'm McLovin' these releases!
Dragon Ball is an amazing series. While Dragon Ball Z is the more famous anime series because of all its super battles, Dragon Ball is actually a little bit more enjoyable because of its light-hearted humor mixed with more traditional fight scenes. With Dragon Ball FUNimation is releasing the series in an amazing and affordable format. These releases are much better handled than the Dragon Ball Z releases being that they are not cropped and the original opening and closing themes are sung in English! If you're a fan of the Dragon Ball manga or Dragon Ball Z, then I truly suggest you get Dragon Ball. With a release of 30-31 episodes a season this volume is the midway point of the series.

Volume 1: Episodes 1-31 (31 episodes) Pilaf Saga -> Training/1st Tournament Saga -> Start of Red Ribbon Army Saga

Volume 2: Episodes 32-61 (30 episodes) Continuation of Red Ribbon Army Saga

The following are pure speculation and often FUNimation makes wacky choices when...

Dragonball is amazing!
I have always loved Dragonball Z since it debuted in America in 1996. I own every episode and have watched the series beginning to end more times than I can count. The crazy thing is I never watched Dragonball until now in 2010. I absolutely love it. I bought the season 1, 2, and 3 box sets and I am addicted to it. It changes the way I look at DBZ, I love them both. My only problem is waiting for the last 2 box sets. I wish I became a fan later this year :). I could watch it on the net but waiting 2-3 months will make it an even greater treat and my anticipation will be through the roof. I love the Japanese music they have, its different than the American music in that there are a lot more quiet scenes in DB than the Faulconer dub of DBZ. In the BF DBZ dub they play music for everything in this there are more quiet scenes. Its great!

Getting better!
Dragon Ball Season 3 features the last episodes of the Red Ribbon Army saga, the complete Baba Saga, and the beginning of the twenty second world tournament also known as the Tienshinhan Saga.

For starters we finally get to see Goku complete his training atop Korin's tower and get his rematch with Tao. The second round between the two is the best fight to date, but it will be outdone even by the end of this set. Things finally start to get better from here.

After apparently killing Tao and getting his revenge for Bora's death, Goku decides to take the battle right to the Red Ribbon army. Roshi, Krillin, and Yamcha try to join in, but the battle is over by the time they arrive. Goku single-handedly takes out every single member of the army with no help at all. He doesn't even have any trouble until he runs into Assistant Black, but even then Black is no real challenge for Goku. Even with the aid of a rather robust looking mecha suit, Black is simply no match for...

Fairy Tail - Movie: Phoenix Priestess (Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

Frairy Tail movie is finally here.
Fairy Tail. Such a fun and wild series. First warning. The movie takes place after the seven year time jump. So for most of the content. You need to see at least to box 8. There are some characters you will need to know. I will spoil. But 7 and 8 will take care of most of it.

Ok. Movie review. Ling story short. Buy this movie. Anime films from big series generally suck. Bleach. Naruto. Dbz. Just dont hold up. Why. Because they release one to about every year to two years. They stink.

This is the first fairy tail movie. And it rocks. The production values are high. The art work is crisp. The plot is dark and complex. It is not a throw away ending. It is a real one. Again no spoils.

This is a fantastic movie. But you need to be to at least box 6 to keep up. Enjoy

While It's Nice To Have A Fairy Tail Movie Nothing Too Spectacular About It Either
Sadly like with the Naruto and Bleach Movies the Fairy Tail movie while not horrible just gives the viewers a feeling of watching a prolonged episode from the series. While the writers give us another character and a new group of villains the drama and action feel on the level you have seen throughout the series with no fretting on characters fates or what's going to happen next really.

The animation was also a mix, obviously not the same animators from the series though it's not drastically different either but you can obviously see a difference and it is a little annoying somewhat. It's good to hear the original cast for both the subbed and dubbed voicing their character roles in the movie which is greatly appreciated and you'll still have enjoyment watching the action and humor regardless.

So if you already have the series this is a good addition to your anime collection just keep expectations down on any great story or plot and just enjoy a good hour and a...

These Fairies are Heroes
The movie itself is something I've come to expect from Japanese movies based on existing anime and manga (such as the Bleach and Naruto movies): one time characters, awesome opening and closing songs and some of the best action battles not found in the original anime. And "Fairy Tail the Movie: Phoenix Priestess" is no exception. I loved Fairy Tail and started my collection with the first DVD released by FUNimation.

A major warning: This film takes place after a 7 year timeskip in the timeline (a point that FUNimation has not yet dubbed as we are on the "Edolas Arc" now) so there will be some key characters and changes that you might not understand unless you read ahead to the point where Japan currently has the story. Anyway, the film is about Team Natsu (and later the other wizards of Fairy Tail) joining forces with a beautiful young maiden named Eclair and her partner Momon to stop a attention grubbing king of a tiny kingdom from unleashing a phoenix...
